Captain In Training applications opens in spring for all members. If you want to enrich you leadership skills and apply everything you learned, consider becoming a CIT and lead the next generation of BETA-U.
Captains can be selected as:
Legacy Captain : Chosen by the current captains of BETA-U in conjunction with staff members.
Democratic Captain: Chosen through voting by all members of the team, excluding current captains and youth development coordinator.

Election Process
1. Complete the online application provided by current Captains.
2. Prepare and perform a live speech to convince current BETA-U members why you are fit to be leader.

- Consider including presentation visuals, why you are a good candidate, and how you will make BETA-U better next year.
Criteria
- Currently grade 11 or below (grade 12's are not allowed to apply as they are disallowed from youth leadership the following year!).
- 90% attendance of meetings.
- Is current member of BETA-U Youth Leadership Team.
- Willing to commit substantial additional time outside of meeting hours to BETA-U (5-8 hours weekly!).
Duties
- Attendance of all Youth Council Meetings.
- Holds responsibility of all members, projects, and events.
- Planning and delegating tasks for whole committees and directors.
- Organizing all files and BETA-U related information.
- Motivate and mentor members into better leaders and citizens.
- Maintain an environment of inclusiveness and diversity.
- Uplift and strengthens the team bond while providing the foundation needed to execute successful events.
