Director Applications are only open to BETA-U General Memebers
Director applications opens in October for General Members. A director position is a great opportunity for you to grow more as a leader and learn how captains organize and plan meetings. Plus, this will bring your resume and university applications to the next level!
Application requirements
This is normally a 3 week process including the director announcement meeting.
1. Complete the application form provided by the BETA-U Captains in the City Centre Youth Leadership Discord Server.
- 90% attendance of meetings
- Willing to commit additional time outside of meeting hours to planning and delegating tasks for their respective committees
- Must communicate with co-director and Captains
- Applicants from any grade is allowed to apply

- Captains will decide who will and will not move onto the next round of the application process.
- Include previous and/or related experience, the impact you will make, and new ideas to ultimately excel the leadership team.
- If you need help or advice with your speech, feel free to contact your Captains and they will be happy to help.
- If you don't have a lot of past experience, that's okay! Talk about the skills and experience you want to gain from this.
- Include reasons why you're the best candidate and what impact do you plan to implement as a director.
- There must be at least 2 Directors with a limit of 3.
- Captains will choose 1 person to be the director.
- BETA-U General Members will undergo a vote-by-majority system to choose 1 director.
What positions can I apply for?
Beta-U Youth Leadership is split into 3 distinct departments. Each department requires a director which could be you!
Director of Marketing
Director of Logistics
Director of Marketing
- Good knowledge and past experience with digital design softwares is required.
- Oversees all general members and their work under marketing.
- Delegates and remind members of tasks.
- Creates any additional art or design needed for events (i.e. powerpoints, name tags, etc.).
- Designs instagram posts, instagram stories, and posters.
- Follows and promotes the use of BETA-U's marketing guide.
- Organizes marketing meeting schedules and timelines to facilitate high turnout + engagement rates.
Director of Logistics
- Solid use of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.) is recommended but not required for this role.
- Ensures that BETA-U is working towards their vision.
- Schedules event timelines and logistics meeting schedules.
- Guides discussion about event planning.
- Manages spreadsheets for budgeting, inventory, event registration, etc.
- Delegates and reminds members of tasks.
- Organizes roles within BETA-U for upcoming events.
- Past experience with designs softwares and writing emails is recommended but not required for this role.
- Gains sponsorships for upcoming events (i. e. money, food, advertising, etc.).
- Creates sponsorship, event, and speaker packages.
- Writes reminder, thank you, and requesting emails to people or companies outside of BETA-U.
- Establishes a team community by seeking exposure.
- Searches for organizations that provide opportunities for team growth.
- Delegates and reminds members of tasks.
- Organizes preparation timelines for External's General Members.
